Pending Pips

Risk disclosure

Last updated: October 2026

Trading foreign exchange (forex) on margin carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for everyone. Leverage can magnify losses as well as gains, and, depending on your broker, you can lose more than your deposit. Pending Pips is an informational calculator site: it does not give financial, investment or trading advice and does not recommend any broker or product, and its results are estimates based on the numbers you enter. Past results are not a guide to future results. If you are unsure, get independent advice.

Information, not advice

Everything on Pending Pips, including the calculators, formulas, worked examples and articles, is general information. It is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and it is not an offer or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. It does not take your personal situation into account. Make your own decisions, and speak to a qualified professional if you need advice.

Trading carries a high risk of loss

  • Leveraged products such as forex can lose value quickly. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains.
  • Depending on your broker and where you live, you may be able to lose more than the money you deposit.
  • A stop-loss order is not guaranteed to fill at the price you set. Prices can jump, and the real loss can be larger than planned.
  • Many people who trade forex lose money. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

What the calculators can and cannot tell you

  • Results are estimates based only on the numbers you enter. They are only as good as those numbers, and a wrong price, rate or contract size gives a wrong answer.
  • Brokers differ in contract sizes, lot steps, pip definitions (especially for gold and other metals), margin rules and costs. Check your broker's specification, which always overrules a calculator.
  • Spreads, commissions, swaps, slippage and taxes change real results and are included only where a calculator says so.
  • Projections such as the compounding calculator, and the expected-result figures in the risk/reward calculator, use assumptions you choose. They are not forecasts and not promises.

Third-party data

Pre-filled exchange rates are the European Central Bank's daily reference rates (source: ECB statistics), which are published for information only and are not tradable quotes. Live prices shown by the TradingView widgets come from TradingView and can differ from your broker's prices. We do not control these sources and cannot guarantee that they are complete, current or correct.

No broker relationship

Pending Pips is not a broker, does not hold or handle your money, and does not recommend any broker or trading platform. If that ever changes, for example if we add links that earn us a commission, we will say so clearly on the pages concerned.
